Fire Danger This Weekend As Humidity Drops Very Low With High Winds

Elevated fire weather conditions are forecast this afternoon, mainly across the northern Edwards Plateau and western Concho Valley as minimum RH values drop to 10 to 15 percent and 20 foot winds increase to 10 to 15 mph. On Saturday, elevated fire weather conditions are forecast across all of West Central Texas as minimum RH values drop to 10 to 20 percent and 20 foot winds increase to 10 to 15 mph. On Sunday, RH values will drop to 10 to 15 percent, while 20 foot south winds increase to 15 to 20 mph, resulting in elevated to near critical fire weather conditions. In addition, unseasonably hot temperatures are forecast Friday through the weekend with highs in the mid 90s to near 100.
